Installing applications

An application you want to install
must be suitable for the Symbian op-
erating system. Application packag-
es are normally compressed files
which contain several component
files.
Note
Before you install an update for an existing
application, be sure that you have a backup
or the original software package. Otherwise
you cannot restore the original application.
Before restoring the original, remove the in-
stalled application.
You can get installation packages via
• Bluetooth™, Infrared from a com-
puter or phone.
• multimedia message or as an
e-mail attachment.
• download during a WAP session.
Select the required installation
package.
Press the joystick to start installation.
Note
The phone warns you when installing soft-
ware without digital signature or certificate.
Continue only if you are sure of the origin
and the contents of the software package.
During installation, the phone
checks the integrity of the applica-
tion package to be installed. Infor-
mation about the checks are dis-
played, with the option to cancel the
installation.
