Connecting the Cables

Open the maintenance door at the back of LPU unit.

Connect the SDI output of LDC-HD01 to the SDI
input of LPU.

Connect between each LPU by daisy chaining.
Notes
• Daisy chaining is a connection method by which the
output of the 1st unit is connected to the input of the
2nd unit, and then the output of the 2nd unit is
connected to the input of the 3rd unit, etc.
• Input : DATA IN
• Output : DATA OUT1 or DATA OUT2

For less than 64 units
The output of the last unit is connected to the return
terminal of LDC-HD01.
For more than 64 units
The output of every 64th unit connects to a Switcher
input (up to 4 inputs can be connected), and the output
of the Switcher is connected to the return terminal of
LDC-HD01.

Notes
• If the cable length is less than 100 m (328 feet), Canare
L-5CFB 75 ohm BNC cable (or equivalent) can be used.
• If the cable length is more than 100 m (328 feet), optical
fiber cable should be used, with an Optical Media
Converter (not supplied) used in-between.
* Data transmitting rate: 600 Mbps
• The provided cable should be used for the connection
between each LPU.
• Consult a Sony representative for information about the
Switcher unit.
