Kick Starter Mechanism
The primary kick-starter system (one-touch kick-starter)
is employed.
However, a new "non-constant-mesh"
mechanism has been introduced into the , GT kick-
starter, instead of the constant-mesh kick gear type,
such as the ratchet and roller!ock systems.
That is, the kick gear meshes with idler gear only when
the kick starter pedal is kicked.
After the engine has
started, the kick gear and the idler gear disengage. This
mechanism not only eliminates noise resulting from the
constant mesh of the kick gear with the idler gear, but
also greatly contributes to the durability of the kick
starter assembly.
