5.4 ActiveSync Connection via WLAN

This operation works with ActiveSync Version 3.8 or earlier. Later versions of ActiveSync do not
support the LAN ActiveSync setting menu and thus it is not possible for IT-600 to establish
connection with PC via WLAN or wired LAN.
The quickest and easiest way to establish connection between the IT-600 and PC for development
purpose is to use IEEE802.11b/g WLAN. In this configuration, models with WLAN module
integrated (IT-600M30R, M30CR, M30R2, M30CR2, M30R2-CN, M30CR2-CN) are required.
Follow the steps below to establish the connection.
1. Establish connection first between the IT-600 and PC using any method so far described in this
guide for connection establishment either via IrDA or via USB cradle. With the Ethernet cradle,
see Chapter 5.8 "ActiveSync Connection via Ethernet".
2. Initiate the WLAN Settings tool by navigating to Settings → Control Panel → WLAN
Settings.
3. Click Basic Settings tab and enter Access-Point in SSID field which you want to connect if
you already know the SSID or the Access-Point is not broadcasting its SSID.
4. If you wish to choose a desired Access-Point from the SSID pull-down menu, click Search
button and initiate the NetSearch tool. It will search all Access-Points which are broadcasting
SSID and display a list as shown in Figure 5.24.
