1.7 Checking the Operation of FAX Functions

1) Select the Fax Operation screen, and press the On-Hook button.
2) Enter the telephone service number using the keypad, and check to make sure that the
telephone service can be heard. If not, check to make sure that the telephone line is cor-
rectly connected to the telephone line modular jack of the host machine and that the se-
lected type of telephone line matches the telephone line actually in use.
3) Enter the telephone number of a party with which a communication test may be con-
ducted using the keypad, and transmit a document to see it reaches the party correctly.
4) Enter the telephone number of the host machine, and find out the call arrives. If it fails
to arrive, check with the user; the machine may be connected to the wrong telephone
number, in which case the correct telephone number must be registered as the origin.
5) Ask the party taking party in the communication test to send a test document to the
user's telephone number to see if it is received correctly.
