Using DTV, broadcasters can transmit high definition TV (HDTV) images, Dolby digital surround audio, and new services such as multicasting (transmitting more than one program on the same TV channel) and datacasting.

This refers to a home network consisting of devices supporting D-Net (IEEE1394) connections (such as digital VCRs and Set-Top Boxes) for digital audio and video data. The D-Net (IEEE1394) standard for the High Performance Serial Bus is a serial data transfer protocol and interconnection system.
