    AUTION cartridges and the cassette. Use safe lifting and handling techniques. If you need to move the printer, it should be moved by two people. Use the lifting handles, as shown in the diagram (see page 1.3). Back injury could result if a single person attempts to lift the printer.

    Carefully remove all of the packing tape from the printer. Pull the paper tray out of the printer and remove the packing tape from the tray. Select a location for the printer: • Leave enough room to open the printer trays and covers, and to allow for proper ventilation.
  • Page 14 : If toner gets on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash it in cold water. Hot water sets toner into fabric. On the inside right hand wall of the printer, a label identifies which color cartridge goes into each cartridge slot.

    Pull the tray open. After you pull it all the way out, lift up the front part of the tray slightly to release the tray from the printer. Remove paper from the tray. Push down on the metal plate until it locks into position.

    For Local Printing To print from your computer in a local environment, you need to connect your printer to the computer with either a parallel interface cable or a Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable. If you are a Macintosh user, you can use only a USB cable.

    2.4. Using the Multi-purpose Tray The Multi-purpose Tray is located on the right side of your printer. It can be closed when not in use, making the printer more compact. The Multi-purpose Tray can hold several sizes and types of material, such as cards and envelopes.
