5-18. Using USB memory

Programs and memory switch setting details can be copied between sewing machines by means of USB memory.
Do not connect anything to the USB port other than the USB memory. If this is not observed, problems with
operation may result.
Notes on handling USB memory (commercially available)
Do not disassemble or alter the USB memory.
Do not bend, drop, scratch or place heavy objects on top of the USB memory.
Do not allow the USB memory to become wet, such as with water, oil, solvents, drinks or any other liquids.
Do not use or store the USB memory in locations exposed to strong static electricity or electrical interference.
Do not use or store the USB memory in locations exposed to vibrations or impacts, direct sunlight, extreme dust (or lint),
high temperatures, high humidity, severe temperature fluctuations, or strong magnetic forces (such as from speakers).
Do not subject the USB memory to vibration or shocks or remove it from the sewing machine while data reading or
writing is in progress.
Data on the USB memory may be lost or damaged due to some malfunction or accident. We recommend backing up
important data.
The USB memory that you purchased is already formatted. We recommend that the USB memory not be reformatted.
The recommended USB memory is those sold by SanDisk and Panasonic. USB memory from other manufacturers may
use different formatting methods and may not work correctly as a result.
For more information, refer to the documentation provided with the purchased USB memory.

This product is compatible with USB memory that has been formatted using the FAT16/32 method. USB memory
that has been formatted using other formatting methods cannot be used.
