Description
Heat sink for use only on computer models equipped with an Intel Pentium or Intel Celeron processor

Celeron processor
Heat sink for use only on computer models equipped with an Intel Core processor
Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer
on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the keyboard/top cover (see
the following components:

Battery (see

Speakers (see
c.
System board (see
NOTE:
The removal steps for the heat sink vary depending on the computer model. Refer to the steps that
match the computer.
Remove the heat sink:
1.
Turn the system board upside down with the front toward you.
NOTE:
processor. See steps 4 through 6 for heat sink removal information for computers equipped with an Intel
Core processor.
2.
Loosen the four Phillips PM2.0×6.2 captive screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the system board.
