Before You Begin
This Quick Installation Guide gives you step-by-step
instructions for setting up your VoIP Gateway.
The model you have purchased may appear slightly
di erent from the one shown in the illustrations.

Package Contents

This DVG-6004S package should include the
following items:
• DVG-6004S VoIP Gateway
• CD-ROM which includes the User Manual
• Phone Cord x4
• Ethernet Cable (CAT5 UTP)
• Power Adapter
Using a power supply with a di erent rating
will damage this product and void the warranty.

Hardware Overview

Power LED. A steady light indicates a proper connection

When a connection is established the LED will light up

solid. The LED will blink to indicate activity. If the LED does
not light up when a cable is connected, verify the cable
connections and make sure your devices are powered on.
LAN
When a connection is established the LED will light up
solid on the appropriate port. The LEDs will blink to
indicate activity. If the LED does not light up when a cable
is connected, verify the cable connections and make sure
your devices are powered on.
Line
Line LED light on means FXO line is in use (o -hook).
Reset
Use Reset Button to restore to factory default settings:
1. Press and hold the reset button for 6 seconds and Alarm
indicator will be blinking fast.
2. Release the reset button. Factory settings will be restored.
Rear Panel
1. Phone Port (1-4): Connect to your phones using standard phone cabling (RJ-11).
2. LAN: Connect to your Ethernet enabled com puters using Ethernet cabling.
3. WAN: Connect to your broadband modem using an Ethernet cable.
4. Ground: A conducting connection with the earth. Connect with the ground so as
to make the earth a part of an electrical circuit using metal wire.
5. Power Receptor: Receptor for the provided power adapter.
6. Power Switch: Press it down to turn on DVG.

Hardware Installation

A. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet (LAN) port on the back panel
of DVG-6004S and the other end of the cable to an Ethernet Adapter or available
Ethernet port on your computer
B. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN port on the back of the DVG-6004S
and the other into your cable/DSL modem or the LAN port of your router.
C. Insert one end of the phone cable to the line port on the rear panel of the DVG-6004S.
Attach the other end of the provided phone cable to your original telephone line on the
wall jack.
D. Connect the power adapter to the power input at the back panel of the DVG-6004S and
then plug the other end of the power adapter to a wall outlet or power strip. Then press
down Power Switch. On the front of the device the Power LED will turn on to indicate proper
operation.
E. Check the LED display on the front of the VoIP Gateway to con rm that the connections have
been made.
