4. On the Connections screen, under "My Work Network," tap "Edit my proxy server," and
then the Proxy Settings tab.
5. Tap the "This network connects to the Internet" and "This network uses a proxy server to
connect to the Internet" checkboxes.
6. In the Proxy server box, enter the proxy server name received from the network administrator.
Tap "OK" if the port number or proxy server type settings do not require changes, and skip
step number seven.
7. If port number or proxy server type settings must be changed, then tap "Advanced" and
make the necessary settings changes. Tap "OK".

the user get started. Actual implementation may require additional steps, consultation with ISPs,
network administrators, and/or implementation direction from third party software companies such as

h4100 and h4300 series

Perform the following steps to begin setting up an HP-supported authentication protocol on an HP
iPAQ Pocket PC h4100 or h4300 series handheld device:
1.
Turn on the WLAN.
A.
Tap Start, "iPAQ wireless", and then tap the "WLAN" button (if the WLAN is on,
then the WLAN icon will be green; if the WLAN is off, then the WLAN icon will be
orange).
B.
Tap the "X" to return to the Start screen.

At the Start screen, tap Settings and then the Connections tab.
3.
Tap the Connections icon, the Advanced tab, and then Network Card.
4.
On the "Configure Wireless Networks" screen, in the "Wireless network" box, highlight the
appropriate default setting or create a new setting.
5.
On the Configure Wireless Network screen, select the appropriate network and tap the
Authentication tab.
6.
On the Configure Network Authentication screen:

Check "Data encryption (WEP enabled)"
B.
Un-check "Network Authentication (Shared mode)"
C.
Check "The key is provided for me automatically" or enter the appropriate Network
key
D.
Check "Enable network access using IEEE 802.1x"
E.
Tap the desired protocol in the "EAP type:" drop-down box
