Guideline
• This function is available in DISC Record/CARD Video Record/CARD Photo Record mode. page 26
• Guideline displays a certain pattern on the LCD screen so that you can easily set the image composition when
recording images.
• The DVD camcorder provides 3 types of guidelines.
Settings
Off Disables the function.
Cross Enables you to center the subject for proper recording.
Enables you to place the subject in the center square for proper
Grid
positioning.
Enables you to place the subject within a safety zone which prevents
Safety Zone it being cut when editing in 4:3 for left and right and 2.35:1 for top and
bottom.
• Positioning the subject at the cross point of the guideline makes a balanced composition.
• Guidelines are not recorded on the images.

Zoom Type

• This function is available in DISC Record/CARD Video Record mode. page 26
• The camcorder offers three types of zoom: optical, intelligent and digital zoom when recording videos.
This right side of the bar shows the digital zooming zone. The zooming zone appears when you move the zoom lever.
Settings
The zoom range is limited to the optical magnification ratio of the lens.
Optical Zoom
Up to 34x zoom is performed optically.
