Setting the Exposure

Exposure, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity affects image brightness and overall image quality. Longer exposure, slower
shutter speed and higher ISO sensitivity brighten the image. Adjustment of these settings is available when you are using
(Program), A, S and M camera modes. You can adjust the overall image brightness by adjusting the Exposure, Shutter
Speed and ISO settings.
Overall brightness of a captured image may appear too dark if large parts of the framed scene are very bright or the
background is much brighter than the main subject. Overall brightness of captured image may appear too bright if large parts
of the framed scene are dim or the background is much darker than the main subject. Exposure compensation can be
achieved by adjusting the Exposure, Shutter Speed or ISO settings.

Locking the Auto Exposure: AE LOCK

AE LOCK function works in
You can lock the exposure setting for situations where you want to darken a high contrast
subject and background.
1. Frame your subject using the LCD screen, then move the Joystick down (AE LOCK).
2. Re-frame your subject if so desired.
3. Press the PHOTO button halfway down to enable the AE LOCK obtaining clear focus on the
subject.
You may set the focus on a different subject.

4. Press the PHOTO button firmly to take a photo image.
[ Note ]
After taking a photo image, the AE LOCK is automatically released.
