Three tether anchorage points are provided in
the ceiling for the rear seats. A child restraint
system that is installed with a seat belt and
comes with a tether can use the tether for
additional security.

Using an outer anchorage

1. Pull up the head restraint and push
rearward until it latches, then route the
tether strap through the head restraint legs.
Make sure the strap is not twisted.
2. Secure the tether strap hook onto the
anchorage.
3. Tighten the tether strap as instructed by the
child restraint system manufacturer.

WARNING: Child restraint anchorages are designed
to withstand only those loads imposed by correctly
fitted child restraints. Under no circumstances are
they to be used for adult seat belts, harnesses or for
attaching other items or equipment to the vehicle.
Since a tether can provide additional security to the
lap/shoulder seat belt installation, we recommend
using a tether whenever one is available.
