Servicing of a tool requires extreme care and knowledge of the system and should be performed only by a qualified service technician. For service we suggest you return the tool to your nearest Ryobi Authorized Service Center for repair. When servicing, use only identical Ryobi replacement parts. -

DO NOT USE TOOL IF SWITCH DOES NOT TURN IT ON AND OFF. Have defective switches replaced by a Ryobi Authorized Service Center. DRUGS, ALCOHOL, MEDICATION. Do not operate tool while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any medication. -

Replace immediately. Do not operate charger/charging assembly if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way; take it to a Ryobi Authorized Service Center. Do not disassemble charger/charging assembly; take it to a Ryobi Authorized Service Center when service or repair is required. -

This red light indicates your drill is charging and will remain on until charger is disconnected from power supply. TO CHARGE MODEL NOS. RY961/RY1201 Charge battery pack with the charging assembly pro- vided. Make sure power supply is normal house voltage, 120 volts, 60 Hz, AC only. - Page 8 Depress the switch trigger all the way for normal drilling. Release the switch trigger to turn drill OFF. Model Nos. RY961/RY1201 have a variable speed feature in the switch. The switch delivers higher speed and torque with increased trigger pressure. Speed is controlled by the amount of switch trigger depression.
- Page 9 Insert your drill bit into the chuck the full length of the jaws. See Figure 7. Tighten the chuck jaws on the drill bit. To tighten, grasp and hold the collar of the chuck with one hand, while rotating the chuck body with your other hand.

- Page 11 When drilling metals, use a light oil on the drill bit to keep it from overheating. The oil will prolong the life of the bit and increase the drilling action.

Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rotation selector in center position. Insert a 5/16 inch or larger allen wrench (hex key wrench) into the chuck of your drill and tighten the chuck jaws securely. Tap the allen wrench sharply with a mallet in a clockwise direction. -

CAUTION: Any repairs requiring disassembly should only be performed by a Ryobi Authorized Service Center. For the repair center nearest you, call 1-800-525-2579. Store and charge your batteries in a cool area. Temperatures above normal room temperature will shorten battery life. -
