Automatic braking intervention by the area monitoring system can be stopped by depressing the accelerator or through steering
intervention.
The area monitoring system can decelerate the vehicle to a standstill. The vehicle will not be held for any extended period by the braking
system. Depress the brake.
Deactivate the area monitoring system if it does not function as described in this chapter. For example, if multiple unexpected
interventions occur, deactivate the area monitoring system and have the system checked by a qualified workshop as soon as possible.
Volkswagen recommends using a Volkswagen dealership for this purpose.
