    Changing the White Balance Mode The white balance mode adjusts the white balance so that you can capture your subject in its natural colors regardless of the light source. The auto mode will suffice in most situations. The auto mode automatically adjusts the white balance based on the white areas, ensuring that white is reproduced as white regardless of the light source.

    Using Auto Bracket This function takes three frames in succession: one each at –0.5 EV, 0 and +0.5 EV, based on the exposure compensation value set in “Setting the Exposure Compensation” (P.64). This function is useful for checking the exposure compensation. Mount the camera on a tripod or level surface to prevent camera shake.

    • Auto Bracket cannot be used when the image quality mode is set on Note non-compressed mode (NC) or when [VOICE MEMO] is set on [ON]. • The flash does not fire in auto bracket mode. Redeye Reduction Mode If you shoot a subject in a dark place with the flash activated, the eyes of the subject may appear red in the resultant picture.

    Interval (Time-lapse) Recording The camera can be set to take pictures automatically at preset intervals. The interval can be set in steps of 30 seconds in the range of 30 seconds to 3 hours. For example, if you set an interval of 1 hour, the shutter will be released every hour, taking pictures continuously until the storage memory in the recording destination runs out of available memory.

    • Press the CANCEL button during recording to stop the interval (time- Note lapse) recording. • Normal picture taking is possible during interval (time-lapse) recording by pressing the shutter release button. The preset time interval will not change. • The time interval may become longer than the preset interval, depending on the image quality mode and flash mode settings.

    • The “UNMATCHED FILE” message will be displayed if an unplayable Note file is encountered. • Files recorded on the Ricoh RDC-300, RDC-4000 and RDC-5000 series and RDC-7 can also be displayed. However, the non- compressed files recorded in PRO mode of RDC-7 is unplayable.
