Problem
Fiber link not working

If the problem persists after carrying out the above procedure, do the following: replace
the installed FEM, with another similar device and re-perform the requested setup. If that
has solved the problem, send the faulty FEM/FEM4 for repair. If the problem still persists,
there is probably some sort of general network failure. Call FibroLAN Technical Support
(Call 972-4 9591717). Please, provide the following information:
Date and place of purchase, from whom, original invoice
The serial number of the FEM device
The configuration of each equipment that is connected to the FEM
The sequence of events leading to the problem.
Actions already taken and status files.
Software revision levels of the installed equipment.

Corrective action
Check that the receive fiber is properly
connected to the transmit port of the remote
fiber device AND the transmit port to the
receive port of the remote device.
Check the fiber Receive sensitivity is higher
than -30 dBm on the receive fiber connector
at the FEM.
Check that remote device's receive port is
properly connected to the transmit fiber
optic port of the FEM
Reset the device by disconnecting its power
cord and reconnect it.
Check that both ends of F/O link are set to
same mode (Full Duplex mode).
Check
that
both
connection are in same mode (10Mbps/HDX,
10Mbps/FDX OR 100M/FDX, 100M/HDX.
1.Check input signal to E1 port
2 Check the cabling between the E1 port
and the attached external device.
3. Perform a Local Loop-Back (S1 Up)
Check LEDs status and act accordingly
1.Check status of E1 port at the remote
attached FEM device
2.Verify that the common F/O link is
operative (verify appropriate LED)
3.Recall that the AIS on LOS will take place
(all ones are transmitted from local E1 port
to remote E1 port, in case of LOS
occurrence
4.Perform a "Remote loop-back" operation
via DIP switch S2 (Up)
Check LEDs status and act accordingly
