Drive specifications

Your computer comes with the following factory-installed drives:
• An optical drive in bay 1
• A blank bay for expansion or optional optical drive in bay 2
• A 3.5-inch diskette drive or a card reader in bay 3 (some models)
• Up to three hard disk drives in bay 4 (varies by model)
Any bay that does not have a drive installed has a static shield and bay panel installed.
Figure 10 "Drive bay locations" on page 17 shows the location of the drive bays.

The following list describes the types and size of drives that you can install in each bay:
