If the Remington hairsetter emits a bad smell when plugged in, it may indicate a defect or malfunction. The manuals mention unplugging the appliance before cleaning and stopping use if the cord is damaged. A bad smell could suggest overheating, electrical issues, or internal damage. Discontinue use and contact an authorized Remington service dealer for repair or replacement.
