c. Use a T30 Torx
screwdriver to loosen screws
and-fan assembly from the system board.
Note: Carefully loosen the four screws to avoid any possible damage to the system board. The four
screws cannot be removed from the heat-sink-and-fan assembly.

d. Lift the failing heat-sink-and-fan assembly from the system board.
Notes:
• You might have to gently twist the heat-sink-and-fan assembly to free it from the microprocessor
socket on the system board.
• Install a microprocessor socket cover to protect the empty microprocessor socket.
