Toolbox System Status Messages

Displayed, in red, in the M Series Toolbox utility.

PROBLEM
Out of Paper
No media is reaching the
print engine.
Paper Jam
Media jam detected.
Printer has detected that
one of the media sensors
is blocked (interrupted).
Printer has detected that
the top section of the
print engine is open.
Printer was paused by
the user pressing the
PAUSE button.
Error appears without
PAUSE being pressed.
Print engine has detected
discrepancy between
paper transport rate and
encoder feedback
X = Color.
One or more Ink Tanks
are low on ink.
X = Color or "Any"
One or more Ink Tanks
are out of ink
Any = more than one.
TROUBLESHOOTING
SOLUTION
Load media into printer and press the
PAPER/RESUME button.
If media is present; check/adjust the
guides and separators.
Carefully remove jammed Media from
printer and close the print engine.
The toolbox "Paperpath" line should
change to:
Paperpath: Entry: No Exit: No
After you clear the jam you can;
Press RESUME button to continue
printing.
Press the CANCEL button to cancel the
job, and then manually clear the job
from the computer's print queue.
Check/adjust the Feeder Encoder.
Verify that the print engine is closed
and securely latched at both sides.
Press the RESUME button to continue
printing.
Press the CANCEL button to cancel the
job, and then manually clear the job
from the computer's print queue.
Check for dirty grit rollers within print
engine. If media is slick (slippery), try a
different media.
Units with Uncovered Encoder Wheel:
Carefully clean the Encoder Wheel,
located at the operator side of the print
engine, using a lint free cloth dampened
with distilled water. Install the Encoder
Shield Kit (part # 42-900-20).
Ink Tank replacement will be necessary
soon. Reorder Ink
Replace empty Ink Tank(s)
Verify that Ink Tanks are seated firmly
and latches are fully closed.
Clear error by cycling print engine
power, using ON/OFF button.
