General explanation

Depending on the TV and other equipment you want to connect, you could con-

nect the player by various ways. Possible connections are shown in the following
drawings.

Please refer to the manuals of your TV, VCR, Stereo System or other devices to
make the best.

For better sound reproduction, conncet the player's audio out jacks to the audio
in jacks of your amplifier, receiver, stereo or A/V equipment. See [ Audio Connec-
tion].
Caution:
- Do not connect the player's audio out jack to the PHONO IN jack of
your audio system.
- Do not connect your DVD player to the TV via your VCR. The DVD
image could be distorted by the copy protection system.

Video connection

Video CVBS connection
CVBS video output is the most common video format. It combines brightness

signal and chroma signal together by using only one cable for output. Plugs of the
cable are both in yellow.

Connect the (CVBS) VIDEO OUT jack on the DVD player to the video in jack on
the TV using the video cable supplied.
S-Video connection.

S-video output is a video output that refers to two separated signals, brightness
signal and chroma signal. The advantage of this connection is by reproducing a high
quality picture.
Connect the S-Video OUT jack on the rear of the player to the S-Video in jack on

the TV using an optional S-Video cable(not supplied).
Component video connection (Y/CB/CR)
Component video of Y/CB/CR format includes three types of signals, they are Y;

Connect the Y/CB/CR OUT jack on the rear of the player to the corresponding
in jacks on the TV using the component video cable (not supplied).
Caution:
- Do not connect the component video and S-Video connection to the
TV at the same time (see the chapter [Option between component video
and S-Video] for details).
