Pre-Operation Checks; Removing/Installing Engine Cover - Honda BF5A Owner's Manual

BF5A/BF4.5B is the 4-stroke, water
cooled outboard motor which uses
unleaded regular gasoline for fuel. It
also requires the engine oil. Check
the following before operating the
outboard motor.
Perform the following
pre-operation checks with the
engine stopped.

Removing/Installing Engine Cover

(REAR)
ENGINE COVER
LOCK LEVER
LOCK
UNLOCK
To remove, push down the engine
cover lock lever and remove the
engine cover.
To install, set the engine cover and
pull up the engine cover lock lever
to lock it.

PRE-OPERATION CHECKS

Do not operate the outboard
motor without the engine cover.
Exposed moving parts can
cause injury.
