INSTALLATION

Battery charging DC receptacle

(Optional parts except SB, LB,
SBK, LBK, SBU and LBU types)
DC RECEPTACLE
RUBBER COVER
Batteries produce explosive
gases. Keep sparks, frames,
and cigarettes away. To prevent
the possibility of creating a
spark near the battery, connect
the charging wire first to the
battery and then to the
outboard motor; when
disconnecting the charging
wire, remove it from the
outboard first.

FUSE HOLDER
PLUG
The DC receptacle provides a 12 volt,
3 amp output for battery charging.
The charging circuit is protected by a
5 amp fuse that is accessible by
removing the engine cover.
A male plug for the DC receptacle is
provided with the outboard motor;
connect your battery charging wires
to that plug (Refer to the wiring
diagram on page
the positive (Red) battery cable is
connected to the ( ) plug terminal.

Reversing the battery cables will
damage the charging system
and/or the battery.
When it is not in use, keep the
DC receptacle dry and clean by
covering it with the rubber cap
provided.
The outboard motor's 12 volt output
is intended for battery charging only.
Electrical accessories should be
connected to the battery as shown.
