Chapter 1: Getting Started Setup and Connections Step 1: Connect your TV Connect the cable from your cable system or off-air antenna to the cable in-jack on the back of the TV, as shown on the left.

Step 6 (optional): Connect other components to your TV Use the jacks on the front panel of your TV to connect components to your TV. You can see what’s playing on the component you connected by pressing the INPUT button on your remote until VID appears on the screen.

This button can also be used to select numbered menu items directly. To enter a two-digit channel, press the two digits. To enter a three-digit channel, press and hold the first digit for two seconds until two dashes appear to the right of the number, then add the second two.

    Using Closed Captioning Many programs are encoded with closed-captioning information, which lets you display the audio portion of a program as text on the TV screen. Closed captioning is not available on all channels at all times. Only specific programs encoded with closed-captioning information are applicable.
