Lubricating Lathe

GEARBOXES MUST
BE FILLED WITH OIL!
LATHE MAY NOT
HAVE OIL INCLUDED!
Refer to the Lubrication
Section in this Manual
for Recommended
Oil Type.
The headstock, quick-change gearbox, and apron
must be properly lubricated before the lathe can
be operated.
Damage caused to the bearings and gears from
running the lathe without proper lubrication will
not be covered under warranty. Refer to the
Lubrication section, beginning on Page 61, for
checking and adding oil.
In addition to the components mentioned above,
we also recommend that you lubricate all other
points on the machine at this time.
Note: If this lathe was shipped with oil in the
headstock and apron reservoirs, do not change
that oil until after the test run and spindle break-in
procedures.

Power Connection

Electrocution
may occur if machine is
ungrounded,
connected to power, or
connected to an undersized
circuit. Use an electrician
or
personnel to ensure a safe
power connection.
Before the machine can be connected to the
power supply, there must be an electrical circuit
that meets the Circuit Requirements for 220V
on Page 13.
To minimize the risk of electrocution, fire, or equip-
ment damage, installation work and electrical wir-
ing MUST be done by an electrician or qualified
service personnel.
Note About Extension Cords: Using an incor-
rectly sized extension cord may decrease the life
of electrical components on your machine. Refer
to Extension Cords on Page 14 for more infor-
