Customers with 0A1 firmware should contact Raritan Technical Support for upgrade instructions.     “ConsoleSwitch with Paragon Installation.” REPARATION In order to operate ConsoleSwitch SCS232, you will need at least one dumb terminal (e.g., DEC VT100) or terminal emulator (e.g., laptop, e.g., Raritan AUATC Terminal Emulator and Converter) to access and control connected devices. In this manual, dumb terminals or terminal emulators used to operate ConsoleSwitch are called “user consoles”.

    With your user consoles and devices attached, connect the supplied AC power cord to ConsoleSwitch, and switch the power on. Note that terminals and devices may be attached or disconnected at any time. On the bottom-left of your user console, you will see a message directing you to type main help menu.

    AUATC terminal emulator: To check the firmware version of your Paragon Matrix Switch (p/n UMTxx), press the [FUNC] button on the front panel of the unit. The LCD display will read “Display Ver./SN”. Press the [ENT] button on the front panel of the unit.

    4: I HAPTER NSTALLATION REPARE EVICES Devices to be controlled by Paragon through ConsoleSwitch must be set at the following communications settings. Before proceeding, check all devices that you wish to connect, and ensure that they have been set correctly. Consult your device’s user manual to change the communications parameters if they do not match.

    Plug each supplied 6V DC power supply provided with the AUATCs into the two terminal emulators. After first ensuring that the power switch is in the “off” position, connect the provided AC power cord to ConsoleSwitch SCS232, and plug into an appropriate power source.

    Press <F5> to enter to the Administration Menu. Select “Channel Configuration”. Move the cursor to one of the two channels to which ConsoleSwitch SCS232 is connected. Press <G> to invoke a Channel Configuration menu for ConsoleSwitch SCS232-connected devices. Proceed to the next section.

  • Page 33 Connect one end of a straight-through serial cable to the port labeled “Admin” (DB9F) on the back of your Paragon Matrix Switch (p/n UMT8) to be updated. Connect the other end of the cable to the serial port of any computer with Paragon Update installed.
