Bring the piston to the TDC of the compression stroke.
Place a wrench over the flywheel nut and turn it counter-
clockwise to align the TDC mark [A] with the center of the
grooves [B] of the inspection hole.
Camshaft Chain Tensioner (see Camshaft Chain Ten-
Loosen the camshaft cap bolts gradually and evenly as
shown sequence [1 ∼ 8], and remove them.
Remove the camshaft cap [A].
Positioning Rings [A]
Disengage the camshafts [B] from camshaft chain [C].
Staff a clean cloth into the camshaft chain tunnel to keep
any parts from dropping into the crankcase.
Always strain the camshaft chain while turning the
crankshaft when the camshafts removed.
This avoids kinking the chain on the lower (crank-
shaft) sprocket. A kinked chain could damage both
the chain and the sprocket.
