Encoder overview
The encoder is selected in the motor Order No. (MLFB) using the appropriate letter at the
14th position.
Note
The letter ID at the 14th position of the Order No. (MLFB) differs for motors with and without
DRIVE-CLiQ.
Table 5- 1
Encoder type
Incremental encoder, 22-bit, with commutation
position (encoder IC22DQ)
Incremental encoder, sin/cos 1 Vpp, 2,048 S/R with
C and D track (encoder IC2048S/R)
Absolute encoder, 22-bit singleturn + 12-bit multiturn
(encoder AM22DQ)
Absolute encoder, EnDat, 2,048 S/R (encoder
AM2048S/R)
The encoders can be replaced without adjustment.
£Incremental encoders are referenced every time the system is started up.
NOTICE
Absolute encoders must be re-referenced after being replaced, as the number of full
revolutions is initially undetermined.
