    The Talk/Batt Low indicator on the handset and the In Use/Charge indicator on the base light. The ET-926 scans 20 channels (fre- quency pairs used between the base and the handset) and automatically se- lects a clear channel each time you make or receive a call.

If you still have problems, disconnect the phone. If other phones on the same line work properly, the fault is in this phone or its installation.
