As mentioned prior, with the Dell PowerEdge m1000e chassis it's more likely the S5000 switch will be
at ToR going to all the storage at EoR. In this case, as shown in Figure 67, we have VLT on the Dell
S5000 switch running down to the MXL switches. In this scenario, the MXL would be configured as the
FSB.
Also, as mentioned prior, because the FIP protocol communicates over the default VLAN to
discover the FCoE VLAN, the FCoE ports connecting to the CNA and to the Dell S5000 Ethernet
switch are untagged in the default VLAN. In this case, the LAN traffic should not be on the default
VLAN and is tagged on VLAN 5.
