    INTRODUCTION The North Primair Series Head Cover is a fabric head covering designed for use with the North Compact Air belt mounted Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), to provide respiratory protection from gases, vapors and particulates depending on the air purifying ele- ments used.

    1.1.2 GENERAL WARNINGS Failure to properly select the appropriate respirator for all the contaminants and their concentrations against which protection is required, or a failure to follow North’s instructions and warnings, may expose the user to the hazardous materials and the risk of serious injury, illness or death. Do not use this respirator for protection against air contaminants other than those listed on the air-purifying elements and on the NIOSH Approval Label, which is supplied with the air-purifying elements.

    You should not enter any potentially contaminated atmosphere unless you have confirmed all of these factors. 1.1.4 TRAINING PROGRAM These brief written instructions cannot substitute for a formal Respirator Training Program. Such training should include an opportunity for you to handle the respirator, learn how to inspect it, have it properly fitted, wear it in normal air for a long familiarity period, and finally, to wear it in a test atmosphere.

    Pull the bottom of the lens on the head cover down, so the headgear manifold is completely under the fabric portion of the head cover (figure 6). Make sure that the fabric on the inside of the Primair Plus doe not block the opening of the manifold. Remove the protective plastic covers (inside and outside) on the lens of the head cover before using the respirator.

    TO REPLACE THE SWEATBAND The Primair Series headgear comes with a replaceable sweat band. To replace the sweatband: Peel the old sweatband off the headgear. Using a mild cleaning solution and a cloth or sponge, remove any excess adhesive that may remain on the headband. Rinse in clean water than air dry in a clean area before attaching the replacement sweatband Remove the protective backing of the replacement sweatband (P/N PA104) and press it onto the headgear (figure 9).

    INTRODUCCIÓN El capuchón de la serie Primair de North está fabricado en tela y hecho para utilizarse con el respirador de ventilación integrada COM- PACT AIR (PAPR) de North llevado en la cintura, el cual procura protección respiratoria contra gases, vapores y partículas según los elementos utilizados para la purificación del aire.

    1.1.2 ADVERTENCIAS GENERALES Se debe seleccionar el respirador correspondiente a la protección adecuada según los contaminantes y sus concentraciones y deben seguir las instrucciones y las advertencias de North, si no el usuario se expone a materias peligrosas y a un riesgo de serias heridas, de enfermedad o muerte. No debe utilizar este respirador para protegerse de contaminantes que no están inscritos en la lista de la unidad de purificación de aire, ni en la etiqueta aprobada de NIOSH, la cual está...

Que este respirador esté aprobado contra estos contaminantes y concentraciones, según los criterios establecidos por OSHA, por cualquier otra norma gubernamental, por NIOSH o las publicaciones ACGIH. Leer atentamente la etiqueta aprobada de NIOSH incluida en el manual de ensamblaje de la batería/ventilador del Compact Air. Asegúrese de que los números de producto sobre los componentes del respirador correspondan a los números de producto inscritos en la etiqueta de aprobación NIOSH o en el cuadro de configuración.
