Installation Procedures

A. Install Fast/Wide
Fast/Wide SCSI disks (or Hot-Swap disks) can be installed while system
SCSI Disks
power is ON or OFF.
CAUTION
You must follow proper hot-swap procedures before adding or replacing a
Fast/Wide SCSI disk. Refer to the Hot-Swap Procedure Guide for hot-
swap procedures and information before performing the following
installation procedure.
NOTE
The hot-swap capability (up to five disks) is standard on Model D3xx
servers, and is available as a two-disk option on Model D2xx servers. To
add the optional hot-swap capability to your D2xx server, refer to the
procedure described in step K of this manual, then return to step A to
add the hot-swap disks.
1. Unlock the peripheral door using the key that was shipped with your
