10 Operation

10-4-2 Trial Operation via USB Communications from the CX-Drive

Use the Connector CN1.

Supply 12 to 24 VDC to the control signal connector pins +24 VIN and COM.

Turn ON the Servo Drive power.

Connect a USB cable to the USB connector (CN7).

Start the CX-Drive and go online with the Servo Drive via USB communications.

In the CX-Drive, set various initial setting parameters using the Linear Motor Setup
Wizard.
For details on this Setup Wizard, refer to 10-3 Linear Motor Setup on page 10-13.

Select [Test Run] from the [Tuning] Menu of the CX-Drive.

Select [Servo ON] to servo-lock the Linear Motor.

Select [Positive] or [Negative] and start the Linear Motor.
The Linear Motor will move until [Stop] is selected.

The trial operation function via USB communications from the CX-Drive cannot be used while
EtherCAT communications are established.

The Linear Motor Setup Wizard, tuning, and trial operation require online operation from a personal
computer.
