CHAPTER 4.
The APC provides security features such as RADIUS server interfacing, system user
management, guest service, scanning and blocking unauthorized APs, firewall, and access
control list (ACL) which are necessary in the wired and wireless network environment.
This chapter describes the possible problems and their solutions while using various
security features supported by the system.
4.1
Firewall does not Work
Access-group of the firewall is applied to the interface but the firewall does not work.
This may occur if accelerator is not enabled for the firewall.
Symptoms
The firewall policy is set up on the interface but is not applied to the packets.
Possible Causes
Accelerator of the firewall is not enabled and therefore the firewall policy is not applied
through the fast-forwarding path of the equipment.

The APC data processing uses the slow-forwarding path and the fast-forwarding
path. If there is information concerning processing of the data, all data is
processed through the fast-forwarding path. If the information does not exist, the
data is processed through the slow-forwarding path. All information concerning
firewall policy is in the slow-forwarding path.
