Most keys have a second function printed above the key. The shift
key accesses these operations. To do a "shifted'" operation, press and
release. to turn on the shift annunciator
(J).
Then, press the key.
For example, pressing. followed by @] (also written
.1
OFF
I)
turns
the calculator off.
If you aCcidentally press . , press. again to turn off the shift
annunciator.
Menus and Pointers
The HP-22S uses
menus
to extend the functionality of the keyboard.
For example, pressing

OISP 1
displays the DISP
(display format)
menu.
