Installing an additional M12 in a cabinet

This section describes how to install the M12 in the Model C36 cabinet. These
procedures use parts that are included in the 14U chassis mount kit.

Time required

Allow approximately 2.5 hours to complete this procedure. This includes unpacking,
assembling, and repacking the lift tool.
Note: Assembly instructions for the lift tool are in the shipping container.

Tools required

You will require the following items to install the M12 in the cabinet:
v #2 Phillips screwdriver
v Lift tool

Installing the brackets

Perform the following steps to install the brackets:
b. Support the door to prevent it from falling. Pull the door away from the
chassis.
c. Push the spring-loaded lever on the upper hinge up and into the notch in the
hinge. See Figure 21.
d. Push the spring-loaded lever on the lower hinge down and into the notch in
the hinge. Pull the door out, towards you.
e. Pull the door away from the chassis.

Important
The2109 Model C36 cabinet is designed to support one additional Model M12
switch. If you plan to install an additional M12, you cannot install any 2109
Model F16 or Model F32 switches in the cabinet.
