Connecting to an External Monitor or Recorder

m When you connect the camcorder to an external device, be it a monitor (to monitor the recording or for
playback) or an external video recorder (for recording), use the terminal on the camcorder that matches the one
you wish to use on the external device. Then, select the video signal output configuration.

Recording Video Using an External Recorder

In order to record video and audio on an external recorder connected to the camcorder's SDI OUT terminal
(m only) or HDMI OUT terminal, you must set the camcorder in external recording-only mode. Refer also
to the external recorder's instruction manual for details on how to record.
For details about the audio channels that are output, refer to Audio Output (A 110).
Operating modes:
1 Select [Internal/External Rec].
> [3 ! Recording Setup] > [Internal/External Rec]
2 Touch the desired option depending on the terminal you wish to use and then touch [L].
• Touch [ø External Rec Only (SDI)] (SDI OUT terminal, m only) or [ù External Rec Only (HDMI)]
(HDMI OUT terminal).
3 Select the configuration of the output signal.
[External Rec Video Config.] > Desired option > [X]
• For details, refer to the Video Output Configuration table (A 105).
