With regard to data transmission, a distinction is always made between the
requesting station (RST) initiating the protocol request, and the peripheral
station (PST) responding to the protocol request. In the event that the R200
communication module in the system is to act as the RST in communica-
tions, the integration of the Standard Interfaces function module (order no.
1070 077 901) in the PLC program will be required.
The R200P communication module comprises the PROFIBUS-FMS con-
nection for the CL200. It provides the controller with an extensive variety of
networking and communications options via the PROFIBUS-FMS.
The R200P provides two interfaces:
D PROFIBUS-FMS interface
D V.24 / 20mA combination interface
Both interfaces can be operated simultaneously, and each interface features
its own 7-segment for status indication.
The R200P supports the following transmission protocols:
D PROFIBUS-FMS protocol
D BUEP19E
D BUEP3E
D BUEP64
The PROFIBUS-FMS protocol is an open-standard, manufacturer-indepen-
dent transmission protocol. It is defined in the EN 50170 standard.
The BUEP19E protocol conforms to the DIN 66 019 standard. It controls the
data traffic handled via serial interface between programmable memory
controllers and peripheral devices. The data interchange transactions are
protected against loss of data.
