NOTE: If the engine sounds as if it is try- ing to start before the 5th pull, stop pulling and immediately proceed to the next step. 6. Push the choke knob in completely (to the OFF position); pull the starter rope until the engine starts. -

Allow the chain to cut for you. Exert only light downward pressure. If you force the cut, damage to the bar, chain, or engine can result. Release the throttle trigger as soon as the cut is completed, allowing the en- gine to idle. - Page 12 S As tree starts to fall, stop saw, put it down, and get away quickly on your planned re- treat path. S DO NOT cut down a partially fallen tree with your saw. Be extremely cautious with partially fallen trees that may be poorly supported.
