    40:1. A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 3.2 onces of oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline. Included with this saw is a 3.2 ounce container of Poulan/Weed Eater brand oil. Pour the entire contents of this container into 1 gallon of gasoline to achieve the proper fuel mixture.

    ON/STOP Switch Primer Bulb ON/STOP SWITCH STOP CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER (SIDE VIEW) Choke/Fast FULL Idle Lever STARTING A WARM ENGINE: S Move ON/STOP switch to the ON position. S Pull the choke/fast idle lever out to the full extent, then push the lever back in com- pletely (to the OFF position).

    S Begin cutting with the saw frame against the log. S Keep the engine at full speed the entire time you are cutting. S Allow the chain to cut for you. Exert only light downward pressure. If you force the cut, damage to the bar, chain, or en- gine can result.
  • Page 12 S DO NOT cut down a partially fallen tree with your saw. Be extremely cautious with partially fallen trees that may be poorly supported. When a tree doesn’t fall com- pletely, set the saw aside and pull down the tree with a cable winch, block and tackle, or tractor.

    Using a support stand LIMBING AND PRUNING WARNING: Be alert for and guard against kickback. Do not allow the moving chain to contact any other branches or ob- jects at the nose of the guide bar when limb- ing or pruning. Allowing such contact can re- sult in serious injury.
