# Log in to the FTP server through FTP.

# Download the configuration file config.cfg of the device to the PC for backup.
ftp> get config.cfg back-config.cfg
# Upload the configuration file newest.app to the root directory of the storage medium on the active
MPU.
ftp> put newest.app
ftp> bye
NOTE:
You can take the same steps to upgrade configuration file with FTP. When upgrading the configuration
file with FTP, put the new file in the storage medium's root directory.
After you finish upgrading Boot ROM through FTP, you must execute the bootrom update command to
upgrade Boot ROM.

# Copy the system software image file newest.app to the root directory of the storage medium on the
standby MPU (in slot 1).
<Sysname> copy newest.app slot1#flash:/
# Specify newest.app as the main system software image file for next startup.
Specify newest.app as the main system software image file for next startup of the active MPU.
<Sysname> boot-loader file newest.app slot 0 main
This command will set the boot file of the specified board. Continue? [Y/N]:y
The specified file will be used as the main boot file at the next reboot on slot 0!
Specify newest.app as the main system software image file for next startup of the standby MPU (in
slot 1).
<Sysname> boot-loader file slot1#flash:/newest.app slot 1 main
This command will set the boot file of the specified board. Continue? [Y/N]:y
The specified file will be used as the main boot file at the next reboot on slot 1!
# Reboot the device and the system software image file is updated at the system reboot.
<Sysname> reboot
CAUTION:
The system software image file used for the next startup must be saved in the storage medium's root
directory. You can copy or move a file to the root directory of the storage medium. For more information
