Editing a sample

Note: The edited content is also automatically saved to the
SD card each time.
You can specify the playback region and playback method of
the sample.
1. Press the EXIT button (
ACTIVE button (
SETUP window.
2. Either press the pad to which the sample you want to
edit is assigned, or use the cursor keys to select pad.
3. Press the MENU (EDIT) button to open the EDIT
SAMPLE window.
Note: You can press the pad to actually play the sample
while you adjust the settings and hear the result.
4. To specify the region that plays back, use the VALUE
dial to move the "S" start point and "E" end point.
Note: The start point and end point are shown in the
waveform display. You can use the PAGE+ (ZOOM-) and
MENU (ZOOM+) buttons to adjust the range of the
waveform display as you check the playback region. You
can use the PAGE- (V/H) button to switch between
zooming in the V (vertical) or H (horizontal) directions.
The selected direction is shown in bold.
Note: By using the Truncate Sample function you can
discard the portions of the sample that are outside the
specified start point and end point.
Note: Be aware that a sample on which Truncate Sample
was executed cannot be returned to its previous state.
5. Specify the playback method. Use the "LOOP" check
box to specify the loop on/off setting, and use the
"GATE" check box to specify the gate on/off setting.
If the "LOOP" check box is on: The sample plays from
the start point to the end point, and then playback
continues from the start point.
If the "LOOP" check box is off: The sample plays from
the start point to the end point, and then playback stops.
If the "GATE" check box is on: While the pad is held
down, playback continues according to the loop on/off
setting. Playback stops when the pad is released.
If the "GATE" check box is off: Once the pad is
pressed, playback continues according to the loop on/off
setting. Playback stops when the pad is pressed once
again.
6. To adjust the playback volume, use "Lv" to specify
the level.
7. To rename the sample, use the FUNCTION (FUNC)
button to open the function list, and select Rename
Sample.(Please see "Rename Sample" on page 205 of
the Parameter Guide)
8. When you've finished making settings, press the EXIT
button to close the EDIT SAMPLE window.When you
close the window, the edited content is saved to the
Korg format sample file on the SD card.
