Installing and connecting the device
3.1 Preparing for installation
Example of a COA label
Microsoft Windows "Product Key" on the "Certificate of Authenticity" (COA):
The COA label is only attached to the rear of the device containing a Windows Embedded
Standard 7 or Windows 7 operating system.
● COA label of a device with Windows Embedded Standard 7 operating system
● COA label of a device with Windows 7 operating system
● COA label of a device with Windows 7 operating system with new safety feature
The silver scratch-off box is an additional safety feature to protect the product key from
unauthorized use by third parties. The silver scratch-off box partially hides the product
key. It is supposed to prevent use of the product key by unauthorized third parties. You
usually do not need this product key for commissioning because a valid product key has
already been integrated into the pre-installed operating system.
