Cause
Zero point of the CO
2
sensor is outside the
tolerance range.
Inspiratory CO
2
concentration high.
The flow measuring lines
are connected incorrectly.
The flow resulting from the
settings for "Tidal volume
VT per unit time" is not
possible.
The set FiO
concentration
2
cannot be achieved with the
set flow.
The inspiratory and / or
expiratory time resulting
from the settings for RR and
I:E or Ti are not possible.
The sensor reports a filter
check failure.
The connector of the CO
sensor was removed during
operation.
The CO
sensor has a
2
hardware failure.
The sensor or cuvette
window is soiled.
Remedy
Perform the zero calibration.
Check patient status and
ventilation.
Connect the flow measuring lines
correctly.
Change tidal volume VT or inspira-
tory time Ti or ventilation time ratio
I:E, plateau time Tplat%, or respi-
ratory rate RR.
Adjust inspiratory flow or FiO
concentration (in accordance with
measured value).
Change RR or I:E or Ti.
Perform the zero calibration.
Do not breathe on the CO
during calibration.
Clean the CO
test filter or the
2
CO
sensor and cuvette windows.

Check the CO
calibration with
2
test gas.
Reinsert the connector.
2
Replace the CO
2
Clean the sensor and cuvette
windows.
Perform the zero calibration.
