Specifying the portal server

Perform this task to specify portal server parameters for Layer 3 portal authentication, including the portal
server IP address and port number, the shared encryption key, and the URL address for Web
authentication.
To specify an IPv4 portal server for Layer 3 authentication:
Step
1.
Enter system view.
2.
Specify an IPv4 portal server
and configure related
parameters.
To specify an IPv6 portal server for Layer 3 authentication:
Step
Enter system view.

Specify an IPv6 portal server
and configure related
parameters.
NOTE:
The switch (access device) allows you to specify up to eight portal servers.
The configured parameters of a portal server can be modified or deleted only if the portal server is not
referenced on any interface.

Enabling portal authentication

Only after you enable portal authentication on an access interface, can the access interface perform
portal authentication for connected clients.
Before enabling Layer 3 portal authentication on an interface, make sure that:
An IP address is configured for the interface.
The interface is not added to any port aggregation group.
The portal server to be referenced on the interface exists.

Configuration restrictions and guidelines

You cannot enable portal authentication on a Layer 3 interface added to an aggregation group,
nor can you add a portal-enabled Layer 3 interface to an aggregation group.
