Configuring Modular Quality of Service Packet Classification on Cisco ASR 9000 Series Routers
Hierarchical Ingress Policing
The Hierarchical Ingress Policing feature is an MQC-based solution that supports hierarchical policing
on the ingress interfaces on the Cisco ASR 9000 Series Router.
This feature allows enforcement of service level agreements (SLA) while applying the classification
submodel for different QoS classes on the inbound interface.
The hiearachical ingress policing provides support at two levels:
•
•
This allows you to police the ingress interface while applying different classification modes on ingress
interfaces.

Creating a Traffic Class
To create a traffic class containing match criteria, use the class-map command to specify the traffic class
name, and then use the following match commands in class-map configuration mode, as needed.
For conceptual information, see the
Restrictions
All match commands specified in this configuration task are considered optional, but you must
configure at least one match criterion for a class.
