Stitch length:
Baste (or fuse with iron-on fabric joiner) appliqué onto
the fabric.
Sew on the appliqué, ensuring that the needle sews
along the outer edge of the appliqué.
When sewing corners, lower the needle down into the
fabric.
Raise the presser foot and pivot the fabric to the right or
left.

Stitch length:
The balance must be adjusted if the nature of the fabric
prevents a uniform forward and backward feed. To do so,
turn the stitch length knob as follows:
If the stitches are being condensed, turn the knob
towards "+".
If the stitches are being expanded, turn the knob
towards "–".
