NMS login

Overview

The device supports multiple NMS programs.
An NMS is a manager in an SNMP-enabled network which offers a user-friendly interface to facilitate
network management. An NMS runs the SNMP client software.
Agents are programs that reside in the device.
Agents receive and handle requests from the NMS.
Agents are managed by the NMS.
The NMS and agents exchange information through the SNMP protocol.
By default, you cannot log in to the device through NMS.
To enable NMS login, log in to the device using the console port and make the configuration changes
described in the following table.

Configuring NMS login

The device supports the following SNMP versions: SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3. For more
information about SNMP, see Network Management and Monitoring Configuration Guide.
Connect the Ethernet port of the PC to an Ethernet port of VLAN 1 of the device, as shown in
